Meet The Lead Pastor

Originally from Montana, Pastor Tye moved to South Florida in 1995 after completing his masters degree. He started attending Calvary Chapel West Boca and started serving as the youth pastor and worship leader, among other things. In 2005, he became the senior pastor.  He has a passion for God’s Word and His people and desires to help everyone grow deeper in their relationship with God.

In spite of his youthful appearance, Pastor Tye has been a university professor for 15 years.  He was trained in classical music at the prestigious Eastman School of Music and the Lord opened many doors for a successful career as a professional trumpet player.  Although he felt called into ministry while in college, the Lord made it clear that the fulfillment of that call would take place later in life.  In preparation for future ministry, he plugged into Calvary Chapel Rochester (and heeded the call from God to “dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness” Psalm 37:3).  Fifteen years later, the Lord would fulfill the call and Pastor Tye took the helm of Calvary Chapel West Boca.

Tye met Lori while serving in campus ministry during their college years in Rochester, NY.  Lori received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and plays violin.  She has been the guidance counselor at Boca Raton Christian High School since 2002 and loves ministering to people of all ages and backgrounds.  Since attending Calvary West Boca, she has served on the worship team, in children and youth ministries and in the women’s ministry.  In 2010 she completed her Masters Degree in Counseling from Trinity International University.

Tye and Lori have opened their home to a variety of people over the years including foster teens.  Their foster son for three years, Jefferson, is a Marine and lives with his wife in North Carolina.
